Hot Topics
There has been heated debate this month about the potential links between smoking and COVID-19. Farsalinos and others suggest that nicotine might be protective of getting COVID-19. A meta-analysis by Patanavanich and UCSF colleagues finds that smoking is associated with worse disease outcomes for those who are infected. An article by Ling and Glantz printed last year details how the tobacco industry attempts to promote the benefits of nicotine.
